Discover CT with us!
Looking for Connecticut travel advice from a local?
Whether you live in Connecticut or are just visiting, Discovering CT is where you’ll find ideas for memory-making adventures, top attractions, as well as hidden gems.
It’s our goal to visit as many places in CT as possible to provide you with firsthand info, tips, and advice.
We occasionally feature purely informational articles, but most of what you’ll find here are activities based on our personal experiences around the state (and we’ll always be transparent if we mention a place we haven’t been).

We’re Rich and Naomi, a husband-and-wife team getting back to our New England roots after living in Pennsylvania for 15+ years, and we’re excited to discover all that Connecticut has to offer while sharing the best spots with you.
I (Naomi) grew up traipsing around rural Maine, where camping and hiking were our family “vacations.” I discovered a love for travel (and a deep-in-my-spirit passion for Latin America) in high school and college.
Wherever I go, I’m always looking for what’s unique about a place and what it feels like to be there. I’m guided by my curiosity and belief that every place has a story to tell–whether it’s through the intricate details of nature, history that has shaped a culture, or the people who call a place home.
Rich is the resident salsero (salsa dancer) and beer connoisseur. He’ll be chiming in here and there to help me write about anything involving breweries, spicy foods, or the crispiness level of fried chicken.
Together we’re scoping out off-the-beaten-path nature experiences, local brews and farmers markets, adorable Connecticut towns, city life, quirky attractions, and setting out on a quest to find the best restaurants–from apizza to seafood shacks to hole-in-the-wall locals’ favorites.
